Dear Community Organization,
It is with great excitement that we invite you to participate at our 22nd Annual International Bazaar! This year’s Bazaar will be held on Saturday, February 18th in the Oglesby Union Ballrooms from 2pm-5pm. The International Bazaar gives RSOs the chance to share their history and heritage, while giving our community the opportunity to learn about many different cultures and traditions.
As the Center for Global Engagement's premier cultural event, the International Bazaar draws a crowd well into the hundreds. Last year, over forty student and community organizations participated in the event, each offering a unique representation of their respective cultures.
Participating groups will each have a table for their cultural displays. RSOs should create table displays that colorfully and creatively represent unique aspects of their group’s culture. Past examples have included everything from photos, flags, recipes, traditional dress, or interactive activities, such as an origami demonstration. You are encouraged to be as creative with your display as you can be.
In addition, groups are welcome to participate through performances of traditional dance or musical demonstrations. Performances must be no longer than 10 minutes in length, and groups will be limited to one performance only due to time constraints.
Your group may bring tea and/or coffee to share with guests, but food is strictly limited to dessert items.
For technology, we cannot provide projectors for PowerPoint Presentations, but your organization is more than welcome to bring a laptop for use at your table display. Please indicate on your sign-up form that you need an electrical outlet.
Please fill out the following form with your intended activities:
*RSVP your intent to participate by Friday, December 9th at 5:00 pm.
Thank you so much for your time and effort in making this year’s International Bazaar a success! We look forward to working with each of you.
